So Where Does Collaboration Fit?

Post 5 of 10

So where does collaboration fit?

In both models.
But not for the same reason.

In transactional leadership, collaboration helps people coordinate.
It keeps roles clear.
It keeps deadlines moving.
It keeps the team from reenacting (from The Office) Dwight’s fire drill every time pressure rises.

In transformational leadership, collaboration helps people co-create.
It builds trust.
It invites new ideas.
It strengthens culture.
It helps people feel like they are building something together, not just surviving another quarter.

One uses collaboration for execution.
The other uses collaboration for engagement and growth.

Reflect:
Is collaboration on your team merely efficient… or is it also meaningful?

Call to action:
Drop one word below: coordinate or co-create.
