Let’s Talk About Transactional Leadership
Now let’s talk about transactional leadership.
This is the leadership style built around:
clear expectations
clear performance standards
rewards
consequences
accountability
In plain English:
Do the work.
Meet the standard.
Get the result.
And honestly?
That is not a bad thing.
Somebody has to define what success looks like.
Somebody has to make sure the project actually gets done.
Somebody has to notice when the proverbial TPS reports are missing.
Yes, transactional leadership gets teased like it’s Dwight Schrute with a clipboard and a blood pressure monitor.
But structure is not the enemy.
Structure becomes a problem only when it replaces humanity.
Reflect:
Have you confused clarity with control?
Call to action:
Share this if you believe accountability can still be healthy and human.
